Field Focus: Farmers, PGA Tour on par with environmental stewardship

Whether the “field of vision” is a hole-in-one or a fruitful soybean season—environmental stewardship is a core focus for both farmers and professional golfing organizations alike.

The United States is home to the most golf courses in the world. The Wakonda Club in Iowa, a recent stop on the PGA Tour, is just one of more than 15,000 across the nation.

Whether the “field of vision” is a hole-in-one or a fruitful soybean season—environmental stewardship is a core focus for both farmers and professional golfing organizations alike, according to Alex Stuedemann, director of International & TPC Agronomy.

At a recent PGA event, Stuedemann spoke on the similarities between farmers’ and the PGA Tour’s approach to improved soil, plant health, and water quality management.
