Have you ever seen Cotton Candy Grapes in the grocery store? If so, they may have intrigued you to try them! Cotton Candy grapes are not as sugary as cotton candy but sweeter than most fruits. A big producer of these sweet treats is Grapery in California’s Central Valley.
The company ships grapes all over the U.S. and internationally.
Jim Beagle is the CEO and co-owner, who has been with the company for 15 years. Beagle is a fifth-generation California farmer. His family has been in agriculture since the Gold Rush and his grandparents started farming in the San Joaquin Valley after arriving from the island of Croatia at the turn of the century.
“If I don’t hear from consumers, that means I haven’t wowed them,” he said. “I have to deliver a product that is so fantastic that people will take the time to, you know, send a Facebook or an Instagram message or an email to us, or TikTok. So, it’s all about the eating experience for the consumer,.”
Besides Cotton Candy grapes, they also grow other unique varieties like Gum Drops, Moon Drops, and Teardrops.
California farms produce 99 percent of the table grapes sold in the United States. The region’s long growing season also keeps a fresh supply of grapes in stores across the country from May to January.
