Sleep is crucial for farmers, especially during harvest season

As harvest continues to ramp up, so should produce safety precautions.

Laura Siegel with Agri-Safe Network shares why farmers need to get enough sleep to roll those combines.’

“Studies have really shown that operating equipment and machinery and even just being on the farm, being sleep deprived, your brain is almost in the same state as if you were drunk, so you have to keep in mind that if you are not getting enough sleep, if you’re not well rested, is dangerous for you to be doing that work, so just making sure you’re getting enough sleep.”

She also emphasizes not to hold yourself to impossible standards.
