How much profit do farmers get for a Thanksgiving meal?

The National Farmers Union’s 2022 Farmer’s Share of Thanksgiving Food Dollar is out. They monitored several items that are usually part of the big holiday dinner.

NFU says despite increasing food costs for the consumer, farmers’ share of the food dollar remains low. When it comes to hot Thanksgiving meal items, farmers get $0.06 per pound of turkey, $1.30 for a five-pound bag of potatoes, $0.13 for a 12-ounce box of stuffing, and $0.44 per a 16-ounce of frozen sweet corn.
