Georgia farmer grows record-breaking soybean crop!

A Georgia soybean producer shattered a record, growing the highest-yielding soybeans in history.

Farmer Alex Harrell’s crop hit just under 207 bushels per acre, which breaks the previous world record held by our own Randy Dowdy, who grew 190 bushels in 2019.

He says he did not expect his crop to break any records and was only aiming for around 200 bushels per acre. Harrell says he went out each Monday to get tissue samples and made sure to only make applications based on those results. He also credits the record crop to late-season management.
