Students in Illinois will no longer be marked unexcused from school when they are participating in a 4-H or FFA event.
The governor signed the bill at the Illinois State Fair saying, “this new law is a major win not just for our students, but for the future of our ag industry.”
Both the Illinois 4-H Director and the State FFA President say this will help students continue to build essential skills needed after high school, and not have to make the tough decision of missing class or a lifetime development opportunity.
