Lawmakers have filed a bill to temporarily reset the Adverse Effect Wage Rate.
The bipartisan bill is called the Farm Operations Support Act, and sponsors of the legislation say it aims to give wage relief to producers while Congress finds a fair and reasonable solution to labor rates.
American Farm Bureau President, Zippy Duvall is calling on Congress to pass the bill, saying it has outpaced the overall U.S. employment cost index in eight of the last 10 years. If passed, the rate would revert back to last year’s levels.
